A4 Brass Quartet in the community
Alongside our usual evening concerts and lunchtime recitals, we are proud to regularly work with schools, music services and music hubs to help produce and inspire the next generation of young musicians.
This usually takes the form of workshops and masterclasses, Q&A sessions and our own performance to provide a holistic session for the students. If you are interested in booking us for this or want to find out more information, please get in touch
We are also extremely proud to be Live Music Now and Music in Hospitals & Care musicians.
Here we regularly perform in a variety of settings including schools for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, hospitals, hospices and residential care homes. These are some of our most enjoyable and rewarding concerts and all the sessions are very interactive! We involve our audience as much as possible by using a variety of props and percussion instruments ensuring everybody always has a great time! Here are some feedback quotes from previous concerts for you to see for yourself…
“Some of our children can be quite challenging at times in regard to behaviour, but all children seemed to really enjoy and stay focused during the concert.”
“The concert coincided with our Section 8 Ofsted Inspection. The lead HMI stated in his summary to the Head Teacher that he was brought to tears with the interactions he observed.”
“All pupils were engaged and enjoyed the interaction that was part of the performance. Audience skills were evident and the pupils’ concentration was clearly demonstrated. It was a most joyous event and enjoyed by both pupils and staff.”
Live Music Now is a UK wide charity, created by Yehudi Menuhin in 1977. The organisation still retains his original two aims: to offer high quality music experiences to people with limited access to the arts due to disability, illness or social disadvantage, and to support outstanding young professional musicians at the start of their careers.
Music in Hospitals & Care (MiHC) brings interactive live music sessions to people who are receiving care or treatment in healthcare settings across the UK. We aim to make people feel good, one tune at a time. MiHC is a UK charity, founded in 1948. Our live musical sessions are designed to humanise clinical settings, to reach and connect people, to encourage communication and meaningful interactions and to elicit emotions and memories when it matters most.
